• In the beginning .
• Persephone, the spring maiden, was happy and the
  world was full of flowers.

• 1. Hades fell in love with Persephone.

• 5. She posed as a nurse and wanted to make
  Demophoon a god.

• In the end..
• Persephone returns to the underworld seven months
  out of the year. For those months Demeter is sad
  and nothing grows.

What phenomena was explained

• The seasons are explained by Persephone eating
  seven seeds. For seven months while Persephone is
  with Hades, it will be winter. During those
  months her mother, the goddess of harvest, misses
  her.
