Chapter Relations Purpose Statement

• The Chapter Relations Committee shall serve to
  advise the RVPs and staff as to the needs of
  state and local chapters in areas of leadership,
  management and operations.

• Developed in 2006 as a guide for basic chapter
  functions
• A list of 10 specific things a chapter should be
  doing
• Do 6 of 10 to be Certified
• Must recertify each year (12 months)

• Indicates that the chapter is in compliance with
  the major changes occurring in the national
  organization

• State PAC
• Indicates strong legislative involvement. Local
  chapters will be credited if the state has a PAC.

• Lobbyist
• Again, indicates strong legislative involvement,
  and current knowledge of state issues.
• Local chapters are credited if the state has
  contracted with a lobbyist or firm to lobby on
  their behalf.

• State 4 meetings annually
• Local 8 meetings annually
• Indicates regular attempts to touch members
  encourage participation and networking

• Strategic Plan
• Indicates a long range thought and plan for
  continuing success of the chapter.
• Should be a 3-5 year document, reviewed annually
  and then updated every 3-5 years with steps
  goals.

• Indicates fiscal responsibility by financial
  planning for the long term success of the
  chapter.
• Should be reviewed and updated annually.

• Shows chapter strength. Allows for new members

  organization.

• HUPAC Contribution from all board members at the
  Triple Crown Level

• Indicates member involvement in the political
  process
