Introduction

• 1984 the first HIV case was detected
• Subsequently the numbers steadily increased till
  1994
• 1995 1997 there was a decline in the cases
• 1998 2004 situation stationery

MOH Policy

• From 1992, all TB cases are screened for HIV
  status
• All HIV persons are screened to exclude
  tuberculosis
• At the national level the HIV/AIDS control
  Program and TB control Program are integrated and
  managed by the same section.
• The same spirit of integration has been extended
  to the sub-national level
