  • Problem Statement a great number of 9th graders
    express negative connection to peers, school, and
    learning. There is a need to promote
    relationships based on mutual respect, trust,
    collaboration, and support to create a
    cooperative organizational climate and culture.

  • Sample of heterogeneous 9th graders,
    approximately 100 students out of 780, 9th grade
    teachers, and all building administrators.
  • Quality of School Life survey designed to
    measure students reactions, describe and monitor
    the conditions of school life
  • Organizational Climate Descriptive Questionnaire
    for Secondary Schools a survey composed of five
    dimensions. Two dimensions describe the principal
    behavior and the other three focus on teacher
    behavior
  • Quantitative
  • Interview three students ELL, a student who
    scored either a 2 or 3 on the NYS Mathematics and
    ESL assessments, and the third student who scored
    a level 4 on the assessments.
