Overview

• Camtasia Studio is a screen capture program by
  TechSmith
• Camtasia Studio gives you the power to
  easily record your screen,PowerPoint
  presentations, voice, and Web camera video to
  createcompelling video tutorials, training
  presentations, and rich sales demonstrations for
  Web and CD-ROM delivery.

Capture vs. Screenshot

• By default, Camtasia will record a movie of what
  happens on the screen.
• To change, in the Recorder window, go to
• Tools gt Options gt Capture gt
• Capture Single Frame

• Record (capture) footage very easy
• Edit footage fairly easy
• Export movie somewhat complicated

• Press the Record button, or F9
• The Recorder will minimize
• The System tray icon will oscillate colors
• Press F10 to stop recording
• Preview will play, choose Save or Delete

• Edit adds your clip to Clip Bin
• Produce saves your video for others to watch
• Create another restarts the recorder

• Clips can be imported
• Arranged on the timeline
• Cut and pasted together
• It just takes some practice

Step 3 Exporting

• In the Studio window, click onProduce video
  as
• Export options
• AVI, Flash, WMV, MOV
• I personally like Flash
• Follow the wizard (pretty easy)
• By default, things are saved to
• My Documents/Camtasia Studio/Project Name

• If you use Flash, all the files you need
  (including .html) are created for you,
  automatically.
