History

• They traded over thousands of miles with
  different peoples.
• They were famous for their extensive trading.
• They traded salmon and other animals.

• The Chinook also found fame from American
  Explorers.
• Other valuable trade items included canoes,
  slaves and shells.

Resources/Environment

• North American Indians lived on the Northwest
  Pacific Coast or in the forest.
  
• They live in wood houses and they built there
  house out of wood, mud, twigs and branches.

Homes and Shelter

• They had many different houses.
• They use tree branches to build there houses.
• They built a fire to keep there houses warm at
  night.

Food

• Mostly they hunt for their food.
• Like rabbit, bear and buffalo.
• They eat fish.
• They hunt with bows and arrows.

• They used green, black, yellow, and tan
• Made dolls for the children
• Made pots and headbands for men, women, and
  children
• Weaved baskets and quilts, all handmade

  ceremonial dinners, many times after marriages
