Why Self Regulate?

• To reduce incidents, injuries and fatalities.
• To meet and demonstrate compliance with
  legislation, client needs and expectations.
• To work under OSHs preferred model.

• To eliminate undesirable behaviours.

• We have the commitment, resources and expertise.

• - Code of Practice for Safe Handling of Bitumen
• - Incident rate similar to electrical
  contractors
• (regulated).

• Develop and ensure compliance with Best
• Practice for
• - Health and Safety management policies,
• procedures, systems reporting and
• auditing (internal or external)
• - Carrying out in a safe and healthy manner
• roading work activities.

  framework defining Health and Safety best
  practice for roading work activities.
• Assess and certify workers for competency against
  this framework.

• Audit compliance in the field against key
  performance indicators for the top health and
  safety risk/hazards.
• Deregister contractors who are not up to scratch.
