Energy Conservation
  • Energy was formerly a low cost certainty in
    everyday life
  • Increase in cost and demand for energy has
    negatively impacted the environmental and
economic situation for utilities and facilities
  • Significant impact can be made today by
    conserving energy before evaluating the
feasibility of new generation and distribution
    methods
  • Conserving energy means increasing the power grid
and generation capacity of the existing
    infrastructure and maximizing efficiencies

3
Power Distribution
  • Utilities must transmit power at higher than
needed voltages to account for line resistance
    losses
  • Dictated by laws of physics
  • Ensures that facilities furthest from the
    substation receive minimum operating voltage
  • Facilities closest to the substation receive too
    much power
  • Facilities that receive too much power
  • Pay higher electricity bills
  • Shorten the life cycle of their machinery
  • Incur increased maintenance costs
  • Generate unnecessary green house gas emissions

4
Voltage Optimization
  • Ensures facilities incoming power supply is
optimized to increase the efficiency of the
    supply and demand for power
  • Allows facilities to decrease their energy
    consumption by 7-10
  • Allows utilities to decrease their energy
generation by 10-14 for that facility
  • Reduces green house gas emissions
  • Requires no lifestyle adjustment
  • Widespread adoption of voltage optimization
methods means less dependence on buying power
from independent power producers at high
    incremental costs

5
Legend Power Systems Inc. (LPSI)
  • Canadian company
  • Owns worldwide distribution rights and patents
for the Electrical Harmonizer with Automatic
Voltage Regulator (AVR), herein after Electrical
    Harmonizer-AVR
  • Will utilize the Electrical Harmonizer-AVR to
become the world leader in energy conservation
    through voltage optimization
  • Provides direct energy cost and consumption
    savings to utilities and facilities
  • The Harmonizer-AVR is critical to achieving
LPSIs vision of changing the footprint of how
electricity is going to be used in the future

6
Electrical Harmonizer-AVR
  • Patented energy conservation device
  • UL/ULC listed
  • Installed at facilities main incoming power
    supply
  • Can also be installed on distribution branches
  • Optimizes incoming voltage
  • Automatically adjusts level of voltage
optimization in harmony with load fluctuations
  • Enabled with by-pass switch
  • 99.5 efficient
  • Savings easily measured and verified

7
Electrical Harmonizer-AVR
  • Benefits to facilities
  • 7-12 reduction in electricity bills
  • 8-12 reduction in peak demand (kW)
  • 7-10 reduction in energy consumption (kWh)
  • Reduction in Green House Gas emissions
  • Reduction of direct and indirect facility
    maintenance costs
  • Extended life-cycles of machinery and equipment
  • Improved overall power quality issues
  • Recognition as an energy efficient, globally
    aware organization
