functions printing a disclosure list. There is

The Control Panel
Openlaw Litigation Software

This is the name of the Case
The name of your current selection
The total number of Items in the Case
The number of Items in the current selection (all
of them)
Click here to Add to or View the Items in your
current selection
All the main functions are accessed from the
Control Panel

Add basic document details
Openlaw Litigation Software
(or outsource this to a bureau)
Your team will need to enter basic details of
each document, in any order. They can use this
Quick Add Screen. Users can pick name details
from lists or free-type them.
This shows what normally goes in your List this
is an Internal Memorandum with a sender,
recipient and date made up from the elements in
the boxes above

at each item

Look at each document

Your team or a bureau will have entered basic
details about each document
This shows what normally goes in your List this

Here the image is displayed beside the Item
card. The image can be any file type which the
computer knows how to display
Select Grid View for a different way of looking
at each item
Use these buttons to move between the cards
each time you move forwards or backwards, the
image changes

Mark each document as required

Click here if this document is to be in the
List or unclick if it is not to be in the List
Click here if this document is privileged
If a document has several pages use these
arrow keys to move from one to the next

The Grid View shows less detail than the Tab
View but makes it very easy to review and tag
Items

Repeat this for each document

  • Mark each document to be listed as
  • - In List
  • - You may also want to mark those that are
    Privileged
  • - or mark it Review if you are unsure and want
    to come back to it
  • If almost all documents are going to be In
    List you can mark them all
  • with a single command and then just unmark
    those that are not to be In List
  • Dont worry about date order at this stage
    you can sort your list Into
  • date order at any time
  • Your List will be a selection made by finding
    all documents marked
  • In List Y, Priv N, sorted into a
    convenient order, such as date order
  • You can then save your sorted selection as a
    Bundle
  • The next screen shows how to make the selection

Make your selection

Make sure that In List is ticked and Privileged
is set blank
Click All Items to ensure all Items are
included in the search
Take one of the Find options Quick Query is the
simplest for making a Disclosure List
Click Date to sort the result into Date order
Press Run to run the query This will find all
items where In List is ticked AND Priv is not
ticked, and put them in Date order.

Until you find or load a new selection,
everything you do from now relates only to this
Selection

Take the default options

This will give a 3 column report with rows
numbered 1, 2, 3
It takes two clicks to produce a
standard Disclosure Report from your Selection

Draft List in date order
Openlaw Litigation Software
Review on-screen before sending to a printer or
use the button to send the document to Microsoft
Word or to an export file
Notice that uncertain dates can be used, and put
in the correct chronological position
If you have to add or remove an Item, simply
change its In List or Privileged setting and
re-run the Query and Report
These numbers are simply sequence numbers. You
can preserve them by saving them as List Numbers
when you print your final list.
This is one of the built-in Standard Reports.
There is a wide range of Additional Reports or
you can specify your own layouts

Now save the selection

Once you are happy with the draft list, save the
Selection as a Bundle for re-use
The total number of Items in the Case
The number of Items in the current selection (the
ones going in the List)
Click here to Save the Items in your current
selection in the order they are in as a named
Bundle which can be reloaded at any time
Click here to load a previously saved Bundle or
selection, then you can View or Report on them

Admin details about the Bundle
Default name based on your selection criteria
Rename your Bundle to something meaningful
Update your Selection by re-running the Query

  • Mark Items with more refined tagging
  • e.g. relevance to issues or witnesses
  • Search for specific words
  • Tag Items by reference to words or terms
  • stored in the Item Cards, including OCR text

Pricing etc
Openlaw Litigation Software
Openlaw is sold by the Case, so you do not have
to commit to capital expense. The core price
for Openlaw Professional is a case quarterly
rental of 300 for the right to add 500
Items. Blocks of extra capacity can be added,
with discounts for large blocks. Openlaw Add-Ons
are separately priced. Site Licences allow you
to create as many Cases as you like. Rental
Prices include a Low-Start monthly option under
which the initial rental is very low, rising as
the Case goes on. There is further information,
