Group 1- Alkali Metals

• Group 1 elements have 1 electron in their outer
  shell which commonly results in a 1 charge.
• Lithium, Li
• Sodium, Na
• Potassium, K
• Rubidium, Rb

Group 2- Alkaline Earth Elements

• Group 2 elements have 2 electrons in their outer
  shell which commonly results in a 2 charge.
• Beryllium, Be2
• Magnesium, Mg2
• Calcium, Ca2
• Strontium, Sr2
• Barium, Ba2

Group 7- Halogens

• Group 7 elements have 7 electrons in their outer
  shells which commonly results in a -1 charge.
• Chlorine, Cl-
• Fluorine, F-
• Iodine, I-
• Bromine, Br-

Group 8- Noble Gases

• Group 8 elements have 8 electrons in their outer
  shell and have a full octet. These elements have
  no charge.
