3What is VOAD?
- Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster
(VOAD) is a partnership of organizations that
work together and share resources to ensure
effective disaster response and recovery through
the 4 Cs -
Cooperation, Communication
Coordination Collaboration
4Who is VOAD
VOAD members include faith-based organizations,
social and human service organizations, emergency
organizations, donation management organizations,
animal rescue groups, public safety and emergency
management partners, corporate and business
partners.
5What do VOAD members do?
- Members of VOAD provide a variety of services,
which address the four phases of disaster

6Mission of Central TX VOAD
- The mission of CTXVOAD is to foster efficient,
streamlined service delivery to people affected
by disaster, while eliminating unnecessary
duplication of effort through cooperation. - Among other things, CTXVOAD collaborates with
government and other relief organizations,
including Texas VOAD and the NVOAD, to achieve
its mission.
7 8- Members of VOAD often get called to assist
during a disaster. - Partner organizations are able to provide much
needed help to the community, such as shelter,
food, water, clothing, counseling, as well as
financial help. - Some organizations also help with rescue and
recovery operations.
9Working together
Cooperation, Coordination, Communication and
Collaboration helps eliminate duplication and
allows us to increase effectiveness by maximizing
resources available to those affected by a
disaster.
