Intro

• What does it take to be a hero and to be
  recognized by a lot of people?
• To sacrifice ourselves to help others.
• Help others willingly and not help because we
  are force to do it.
• Save a lot of people and become recognized for
  it.

Elizabeth Choy
Elizabeth Choy was a true hero that until now,
her name still revolves around Singapore. Why was
she famous? She was recognized as she risked her
life to help the POWs and gave them food to eat.
Of course, she was captured and severely tortured
as she was also acting as a spy for the British.
This, is what we meant by a true hero. She had
risked her life to help others. Furthermore, she
was not a Singaporean but just wanted to save
people.

Lim Bo Seng
As no such person is available outside Malaya, I
volunteered for this task. I fully realized the
risks involved, but once the job was started, it
must be pushed to a successful end. My duty and
my honour would not permit me to look back.
Everyday tens of thousands are dying for their
countries If China is to take its proper place
among the other nations, her sons must be
prepared to sacrifice for it. My only concern is
my responsibility to you and the Children. It is
very painful for me to put the whole burden on
your shoulders, but I am confident you are
capable to bear it, and bear it well. If there is
a God in Heaven, there should a drop of dew for
each blade of grass. Who am I to doubt his
existence?
