8Annunciation
- The Immaculate Conception is when Mary was
conceived in St. Annes womb without original
sin. - This was to prepare the way for her perfect Son
Jesus Christ. This also makes Mary a New Eve
and Jesus a New Adam - Both man and woman preserved from Original sin
giving mankind another chance to choose obedience
and love. - Most people believe the Immaculate Conception is
when Mary Conceived Jesus through the Holy
Spirit. But it refers to Mary, not Jesus.
9Annunciation
- Mary and Jesus are not husband and wife (as new
Adam and Eve) - However as Eve was taken from the body of Adam,
Jesus was taken from the body of Mary. - Mary was perfectly obedient as she said Be it
done to me according to thy word. - Jesus was perfectly obedient as he said, Not
what I want, but what you want. - It is this infinite obedience that makes up for
our infinite act of disobedience. Redemption.

11Jesus True God and True Man
- There is a big difference between God and Man.
- God is all powerful, we are weak
- God is eternal, we are limited to time
- God is perfect, we are imperfect
- In order for God to be fully human, He would have
to humble himself by freely choosing to limit
himself. - God freely chose to feel pain for us.

13Jesus One Man with Two Natures
- With a humility beyond our comprehension, Jesus
who had a Divine Nature, he emptied himself in
order to take on a human nature as well. - This did not diminish his Divinity, rather it was
unchanged by this act of love. - Jesus lived with the constant choice of
sacrifice. - Jesus performed miracles obediently from the
Fathers Will, and asked the Father for what he
needed (instead of providing it for himself).

15Jesus is Human Divine
- Jesus is like us in all things but sin
- Jesus is sinless because he is God
- God is all Holy
- Jesus did experience temptation but never sinned
- Since Jesus was human and lived perfect holiness,
he sets the example for us - We too can live holy lives, we can be saints, we
just need Gods grace (which we can get through
the sacraments and prayer) and Gods teachings.
16The Example of St. Therese
- St. Therese wrote of The Little Way to live a
holy life. - Holiness was in doing small things out of love
for God. - This way everything we do can become an act of
prayer and devotion to God. - Whether we are being patient with chores or
making small gifts of ourselves. - This is a path to sainthood that everyone can
strive to follow. - We can never have too much confidence in the
good God. His is so mighty and so merciful. As
we hope in him so shall we receive.
17Threefold Mission of Jesus

Priest, Prophet, and King. - Priest
