John Rockefeller was born in Rickford, New York
to Eliza Davison Rockefeller and William Avery
Rockefeller. His dad walked out on him at a very
young age. John, like his mother, had his head on
straight, religious, and was known for being able
to concentrate on detail. John attended country
schools and spent a year at Owego Academy berfore
his family moved to Ohio. He went to high school
for two years in Cleveland. He enjoyed playing
poker.
