New Assessment Procedures

• The Academic Assessment Committee has been
  working on a new web based mechanism for
  reporting course assessment activities.

• This method asks for the same information as the
  Course Assessment Report but is submitted via
  the web.

Reasons for change.

• The ability to glean and maintain more assessment
  information including changes that are the result
  of assessment activities will be enhanced.
• This method also provides standardization of
  course level objectives and a greater ability for
  them to be shared.

Important Points

• Less time for faculty to complete.
• Flexibility of submitting via the web
• Reenergize the faculty in the assessment process.
• Assessment information reported only at the end
  of the semester.

What to do now?

• Returning faculty
• Continue to use in-class assessment procedures as
  in the past. Be ready to submit results at the
  end of the semester.
• New faculty
• Speak to your coordinator about assessment
  methods appropriate for your class. Great
  resource is Getting Started with Student
  Learning Assessment by Linda Suskie which is in
  our library on reserve.
• All faculty
• Review course objectives and provide feedback to
  coordinator.
