6True WorshipJohn 421-24
You worship what you do not know we know what
we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. But the
hour is coming, and now is, when the true
worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and
truth, for the Father is seeking such to worship
Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him
must worship in spirit and truth.
7True WorshipJohn 421-24
The Samaritan Woman Wanted To Know WHERE To
Worship, But Jesus Said Her Real Problem Was Her
Lack Of Understanding About WHOM She Worshiped.
You worship what you do not know we know what
we worship, for salvation is from the Jews.
It is impossible to worship God properly without
knowing God.
8Why? Because in worshipwe reflect back to God
our acknowledgement of WhoHe is and what He has
done.
To worship God is to worth-ify Him, to honor Him
for His attributes, His character and His mighty
works. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His
name Ps. 968

10Knowing God as the CreatorIn the beginning God
createdthe heavens and the earth.
You alone are the Lord. You have made heaven,
the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the
earth and everything on it, the seas and all that
is in them. Neh. 96
Make a joyful shout to the LordCome before His
presence with singing. Know that the Lord, He is
God It is He who has made us, and not we
ourselves. Ps. 1001-3
11Knowing God as the CreatorIn the beginning God
createdthe heavens and the earth.
The heavens declare the glory of God, and the
firmament shows His handiwork. Day to day pours
forth speech, and night to night reveals
knowledge. Psalm 191-2
Worthy art Thou, our Lord and our God, to
receive glory, honor and power for Thou didst
create all things, and because of Thy will they
existed, and were created.
Rev. 411
12Knowing God as the CreatorIn the beginning God
createdthe heavens and the earth.
they did not glorify Him as Godbut exchanged
the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and
served the creature rather than the Creator, who
is blessed forever. Amen. Rom. 121,25
For since the creation of the world His
invisible attributes are clearly seen, being
understood by the things that are made, even His
eternal power and Godhead, so that they are
without excuse. Rom. 120
13How can any reasoning person view the awesome
beauty, diversity and design of this world and
fail to embrace the truth of a living,
all-powerful Creator?
14Although with our limited finite minds we cannot
comprehend all that God is, because He is the
CREATOR of heaven and earth, He expects us to
HUMBLE ourselves before Him.
15Job 381-5
Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind,
and said, Who is this that darkens counsel by
words without knowledge. Now prepare yourself
like a man I will question you, and you shall
answer Me. Where were you when I laid the
foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have
understanding. Who determined its measurements?
Surely you know!
16The Only Worship God Accepts Is In Spirit and
Truth Because It Is The Only WorshipThat Truly
Reverences Who God Is.
We worship in SPIRIT AND TRUTH when we submit
our hearts to glorify Him. We worship in SPIRIT
AND TRUTH when we submit our actions to glorify
Him.
SUBMISSION TO GOD is the ESSENCE of Worship.
17James 46-10
God resists the proud, but gives grace to the
humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God...
Cleanse your hands, you sinners and purify your
hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and
weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and
your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight
of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
18Nehemiah 85-6Bowing Before The Lord
And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the
peopleand when he opened it, all the people
stood up. And Ezra blessed the Lord, the great
God. Then all the people answered Amen, Amen!
while lifting up their hands. And they bowed
their heads and worshiped the Lord with their
faces to the ground.
19Nehemiah 91-3Confessing Sin
the children of Israel were assembled with
fasting, in sackloth, and with dust on their
head. Then those of Israelite lineage separated
themselves from all foreigners and they stood
and confessed their sins and the iniquities of
their fathers. And they stood up in their place
and read from the Book of the Law of the Lord
their God for one-fourth of the day and for
another fourth they confessed and worshiped the
Lord their God.
20Luke 189-14Self-Righteous Pride
The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself,
God, I thank You that I am not like other men,
extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this
tax collector. I fast twice a week, I give tithes
of all that I possess. And the tax collector,
standing afar off, would not so much as raise his
eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying,
God, be merciful to me, the sinner.
21Nehemiah 95-38Appealing To Gods Mercy
You alone are the Lord You have made heaven
You are the Lord God, who chose Abraham You saw
the afflictions of our fathers in Egypt, and
heard their cry by the Red Sea You gave them
bread from heaven for their hunger they refused
to obey But you are God, ready to pardon,
gracious and merciful, slow to anger, abundant in
kindness, and did not forsake them.
22Romans 121
I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies
of God, that you present your bodies a living
sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your
reasonable service.
God wants your life all of it. 95 is not
enough.
23Mark 834-35
Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny
himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
For whoever desires to save his life will lose
it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and
the gospels will save it.
24Matthew 1037-39
He who loves father or mother more than Me is
not worthy of Me and he who loves son or
daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he
who does not take his cross and follow after Me
is not worthy of Me. He who has found his life
shall lose it, and he who has lost his life for
My sake shall find it.
