• To convey more of the emotional content
• Use the physicality of emotion in a digital

• Evoking emotions using sub-symbolic stimuli such
  as colors, shapes, gestures or music.

Introduction

• Mobile messaging service for sending and
  receiving affective messages.
• Built in personal java and runs on P800 and P900
  mobile phones.
• Both mobile phones have touch sensitive screens
  and stylus pen.

Authors Evaluation

• They got both physically and emotionally
  involved.
• Subjects had to keep on doing same gesture over
  and over in order to get the system to continue
  to move in the circle towards the expression they
  wanted
• User have to keep on doing gesture for long
  time, risk loosing their emotional involvement.
• 12 subjects felt relaxed when using their body
  language
• 6 subjects were very uncomfortable in doing so.

My Evaluation

• Changing background animation doesnt mean any
  emotions.
• 18 users of different background were
  participated in user testing which is good .
• Use of scenarios and questionnaires for testing
  which makes testing results very clear

How I would extend DanceAlong?

• This can also be used in IM.
• We can add animated human which actually speaks
  in place of message.
• In place of text message Audio message should be
  transfer so receiver can understand emotions from
  audio message.
