79DEW Line
- The DEW Line played an important role in the
opening of the Arctic. With air navigation aids
a runway at approximately every fifty miles, its
presence accelerated development. - The Arctic development was further accelerated by
the search for a suitable new centre in the
western arctic. The search led to East Three
that became Inuvik.
