Present Progressive Tense

• I am talking on the phone.
• He is eating.
• They are leaving.
• Spanish is the same. However, there are two verbs
  meaning to be. We always use ESTAR NEVER ser
  for our helping verb in the present progressive.

• The present participle (the ing form) is formed
  by adding ANDO to the stem of ar verbs, and
  IENDO to the stem of er and ir verbs.

• comer - com - comiendo
• vivir - viv - viviendo

To form the present progressive

• All we have to do is conjugate estar and then
  add the present participle.

• So, now all we do is add the correct conjugated
  form of the verb estar.
• Yo estoy hablando. I am talking.
• Tú estás viviendo. You are living.
• Ellos están comiendo. They are eating.

La diferencia entre el presente indicativo y el
presente progresivo

• Nieva. Its snowing. (nevar)
• Está nevando. Its snowing. (emphasizes that it
  is happening NOW.)
• Llueve. Its raining.(llover)
• Está lloviendo. Its raining.
• (right now, ahora mismo)
