3What is the Joint Technology Plan ?
- The purpose of the Joint Technology Plan (JTP) is
to create a forum within which several industry
standards bodies can work toward convergence on a
myriad of eBusiness standards and specifications.
Each of the JTP chartering member organizations
is working independently to determine short and
long term perspectives regarding various layers
of the technical standards landscape. Many of the
prevailing eBusiness and XML technologies may be
adopted in a variety of ways. The JTP
investigates such nuances of technology standards
and determines the most sound approach toward
adoption or avoidance of them. Research and
findings in the JTP includes both technical and
business considerations.
