  • To offer a brief update of key national

  • To look at how to evaluate our year 7 work so
    far and look forward to year 8
  • To focus on the aim of creativity in the new
    languages curriculum
  • To share examples of lessons, sequences of
    lessons, strategies or projects that have been
    successful this year with year 7

  • Languages statutory from year 3 (starting in
    2011)
  • Within English, Communication and Languages
  • Only one or two languages, as far as possible
    those that will be taught in KS3
  • Should reach level recommended in KS2 Framework
    by end of key stage
  • Continuing support through CPD and Ofsted to
    report on progress by 2014
