Title: Using Medical Log Entries In PowerSchool
1Using Medical Log Entries In PowerSchool
- How Haralson County Schools
- securely track students
- with medical issues and their
- visits to the school nurse
2The Emergency/Medical Page in PowerSchool
- Our nurses needed to know which students have
parental permission to visit the school clinic
so we created a custom field on the
emergency/medical page of PowerSchool. - We chose this page in PowerSchool because it
allows the nurse to see all relevant medical
information on students visiting the clinic - We update the Emergency/Medical page at the
beginning of each school year
3From the Server we added this field on the
Emergency/Medial Page in PowerSchool
Consent to see nurse
Im not here to cover how to customize pages in
PowerSchool, but here is a very brief description
of how we customized this field We pulled the
page down from the server... made the
modification to the page (html code) and then
placed the page back on the server in the custom
pages folder not something for the faint of
heart and not something that I am comfortable
doing without a technology person by my side.

15Reports
- Nurses run several different reports tracking
students seen in the school clinic - After seeing a student, they send a report home
to the parents detailing the clinic visit - At the end of each day, week, or month the nurse
can run a report on all students they have seen
16Running a Report for One Student
After seeing a student in the school clinic and
logging it into PowerSchool under Log Entries.
The nurse prints this page so the parents will
know their child has been seen. Because the nurse
only can access Medical in the log entries
this is all the data that the parent/child will
see.
