Introduction

• I am going to tell you the wonders and
  adventures that Christopher Columbus had. He went
  to the Great New World and tried to find new
  routes to China. I hope I can teach you all of
  the great adventures of Christopher Columbus.

The Ships

• One of the ships Christopher sailed on or used
  was The Santa Maria. The Santa Maria was the
  biggest of all the ships that Christopher used
  for his trip across the Atlantic Ocean. The Santa
  was a carrack and was around 70 feet long. She
  carried 40 men and in 1492, in the middle of an
  expedition then the ship ran aground and was
  abandoned. He also had two other ships named the
  Santa Clara and the Pinta.

Aboard the Ships

• On the ship diseases were spread people were sea
  sick and the food was getting old. Chicken pocks
  and other diseases were spread and people were
  dieing or very sick. The food was getting old and
  bugs were crawling on the food while some people
  accidentally ate the bugs. They ran out of water
  and the kids had to drink rum or beer. Life on
  the ship was hard but it was worth it because a
  baby was born and they got to America.

The Voyage

• One of the voyages were to Palos de la Frontera.
  One of the problems were finding the supplies and
  the people. Christopher had to make trips to
  unscheduled stops for supplies such as food,
  water, wine, beer, and rum. Life was hard and
  some people died. Some people complained that it
  was to crowded and they didnt want to work or
  help the crew. But after a long six months the
  trip was over and everybody was happy.

The Discoveries

• Christopher was the first Spaniard to find the
  new land or what we called The United States of
  America. The trip lasted until August 3, 1492 to
  March 15, 1493 Christopher said we would find a
  western route to Asia but unsuccessfully he could
  find Asia and instead found U.S.A. Another trip
  was to Cuba and Hispaniola.

Success!

• Christopher was successful and had some
  failures. For example he found the new land and a
  failure was he never found a eastern route to
  Asia. He got many people to the new land but on
  top of that even though he was successful he had
  many, many failures. When he was leaving to San
  Salvador they crashed on to the boarders and had
  to repair the ship before they could leave the
  island

The Problems

• Christopher was one of the hundreds of men that
  thought the native people should be slaves and
  kept to do all the work instead of trading with
  them he helped enslave them. He forced them to
  learn the christen culture and abuse them instead
  of making peace with them. Christopher also took
  there riches and his country thought that he was
  doing the right thing and was helping them.

Conclusion

• I have learned that Christopher Columbus did
  some good things and bad things for the world.
