  Partnership Goals

Our A.T.P. Mission

• The Action Team for Partnerships (ATP) is
  responsible for
• Increasing parent communication and involvement
  through a family and school community
  partnership. This is part of a Middle States
  Accreditation Project.
• writing goals/plans for family and community
  involvement
• implementing activities
• evaluating next steps
• continuing to improve and coordinate practices
  for all six types of involvement 
• To make this a successful project for St. Stephen
  School, the ATP needs input, help, and feedback
  from the entire school community.

Goal Types

• Academic - 2 curricular goals for students
• Behavioral - 1 goal for students to improve an
  overall characteristic/quality
• Climate of Partnership - 1 required goal to
  create a welcoming school environment for family
  and community

Goal 1 - Academic

• We will improve student achievement in
  Mathematics.
• Result Higher math scores in standardized
  testing
• Measure this by comparing test scores.

Goal 1 - We will improve student achievement in
Mathematics.

• Activity 1 Provide TIPS Activities at least two
  times per month in Mathematics (K-8, all year).
• Activity 2 Introduce the 24 card game to
  students and parents for use during indoor
  recess (1-8, all year).
• Activity 3 Math strategies for parents
  presentation of activities to help students
  achieve in Math (1-8, Spring 07).
• Activity 4 Post website activities that connect
  classroom instruction to homework (K-8, all year).

Goal 2 - Academic

• We will improve students writing and research
  skills.
• Result Improved grades and proficiency in
  writing.
• Measure by tracking student grades and test
  scores.

research skills.

• Activity 1 MD Writing Project presentation to
  parents on Sept. 21, 7-9 pm (3 workshops - K-2,
  3-5, 6-8).
• Activity 2 Provide opportunities to
  research/write an opinion paper on a current
  events topic (4-5, March 07).
• Activity 3 Presentation to parents on
  Understanding Science Fair Projects and the
  Scientific Method (6-8, Jan. 07).
• Activity 4 Publish grade level
  expectations/goals for writing (K-8, all year).

Goal 3 - Behavioral

• We will encourage respectful treatment of others.
• Result Reduce incidents of bullying behavior and
  enhance Christian Community
• Measure by monitoring the instances of
  intervention required by Consultant/Principal

Goal 3 - We will encourage respectful treatment
of others.

• Activity 1 Workshop on Oct. 12th with guest
  speaker Dr. John Walkup who will provide parents
  with language to teach their children how to
  answer inappropriate or hurtful comments (grades
  6-8).
• Activity 2 Develop a lending library for Parents
  on a variety of parenting issues (K-8, all year).
• Activity 3 Presentations to Middle School
  classes on approaches to understanding and
  accepting individual differences (6-8, date to be
  determined).

Goal 4 - Climate of Partnership

• Strengthen the six types of family and community
  involvement Parenting, Communicating,
  Volunteering, Learning at Home, Decision Making,
  and Collaborating with the Community
• Result Enhance communication for all.
• Measure with improved results from parent
  satisfaction survey.

community involvement.

• Activity 1 Build school website to include
  school policies, school board, faculty, staff,
  calendar of events and announcements (pre K 8,
  all year).
• Activity 2 Build class web pages to include
  classroom rules, supplies, assignments, suggested
  reading and links to websites (pre K 8, all
  year).
• Activity 3 Welcome Back to School Luncheon (K-8)
• Activity 4 ATP reports presented at Home School
  and School Board meetings, newsletter and school
  website (monthly).
