  • Flat grant 12,000 DDF per year

What candidates to select?
  • Select scholars preferably with an interest in
    humanitarian studies
  • e.g. health care, food production, environmental
    protection
  • Select scholars who wish to study in areas that
    do not normally host scholars
  • e.g. Africa, Brazil, Southeast Asia, Eastern
    Europe

Ambassadorial Scholarships
Application Process
  • Materials distributed to districts December
  • Districts distribute applications and scholarship
    availability to clubs January-February
  • Applications due to clubs from applicants set by
    clubs (usually from 1 March-15 July)
  • Club-endorsed applications due to districts set
    by districts
  • District-endorsed applications to TRF 1 October
  • Applications approved by Trustees 15 December

  • The international exchange of young non-Rotarian
    professionals

  • Districts can send a GSE team every year using a
    World Fund award
  • GSE Team 4 non-Rotarians Rotarian team leader
  • Send additional team member using 2,000 DDF
  • Minimum 5 vocational days
  • Teams spend 4 to 6 weeks abroad

  • IMPORTANCE OF VOCATIONAL DAYS
  • In order for the GSE to be of the greatest value
  • to team members, a minimum of 5 vocational
  • days is required.

  • Rotary provides the most economical round-trip
    ticket
  • Team members between 25 and 40 years of age
  • Team members must be fully employed and have two

Some important qualifications
  • Hold (or, if retired, have held) a college or
    university teaching appointment for at least
    three years
  • Be a citizen of a Rotary country
  • Be proficient in the language of the host country

  • More than 39,000 Ambassadorial Scholars from over
    100 countries
  • 283 Rotary World Peace Fellows
  • Around 13,065 GSE teams (nearly 62,000 team
    members and leaders)
  • 479 University Teachers
  • There are over 102,000 Foundation alumni
