Pre-project situation Teachers observed that
students needed to learn how to manage and
direct their own learning better. We had
begun to experiment with a a team approach to
Inquiry based learning, supported by Personal
Learning Plans, but we felt that we could do
much better! The approach to Personal
Learning Plans needed to be refined and we
wanted to sustain our team approach which we
thought was a winner.

What we did developed an ifolio for
Personal Learning Planning through action
research capitalised on our team approach to
design, delivery and evaluation of integrated
inquiry based curriculum
Inspiring Young Minds in the Middle Years
through a collaborative team approach

student engagement was improved through
providing meaningful choices that cater for
individual learning needs our new system of
monitoring and managing individual learning
through iFolios is a significant improvement
that could easily be adopted and adapted by
others focus on integrating and developing
the virtues of fine character worked well when
reinforced by a whole team approach
effective teamwork created a highly satisfying
and supportive workplace for teachers and a rich
learning environment for students
