Summary of LessonAfter we have discussed
various shapes as a class, we will read the book
When a Line BendsA Shape Begins by Rhonda Gowler
Greene. We will bring in pictures of shapes found
in everyday life and then discuss what other
shapes are found in our room as well as outside
the classroom on the playground. We will go
outside and look at the shapes on the playground.
We will let the students explore the playground
and have students share what shapes they found.
Then we will come back to the classroom and the
teacher will explain that the students should
think about one shape that they saw today and
draw a picture showing where they saw that shape.
The students will then share their pictures with
the class and tell what shape they used.
