Greetings From the AVID Counseling Office   On
Feb 9, 2009, there will be an informational
meeting for those 8th graders who are interested
in participating in the AVID program at the HS
level. Current HS AVID students from BCHS will
share about the program as well as answer any
questions our students might have. Location
Library Time 255-315pm

  What is AVID? AVID is a program to prepare
students for a college preparatory path,
completing requirements for college or university
entrance. It motivates students to pursue a
college education (field trips to local colleges)
It increases organizational skills, effective
note-taking, success strategies, and tutorial
support from HS/College students twice a week.

Potential AVID Student  (may meet one or more of
the following criteria) have appropriate and
respectful classroom behavior  have between 2.0
and 3.5 GPA have good work habits have good
attendance record are first in their family to
attend college are ready to learn new and
helpful study skills special circumstances Can
you please send me a list (no later than
2-4-09) of any students who meet this criteria
and might be interested?
