    options, preparation, and financing

GEAR UP Funding
  • Approximately 4 million for 6 years
  • Currently in Year 5 of grant (Year 1 was planning
    only)
  • Will receive a 6th year reauthorization
  • Will receive a one-time, no-cost extension (7th
    year) to expend rollover funds

GEAR UP Cohrots
  • Services begin in 7th grade with an entire 7th
    grade class and continue for 5 years
  • Additional cohorts are added each year
  • Currently serving up to 1600 students in grades
    7, 8, 9, and 10

    intervention (tutoring) teachers
  • Additional counselor and tutors
  • Explore, PSAT, SAT and ACT preparation
