• My story is about about a boy named Travis and
  his dog old yeller. At first he doesnt like the
  dog but he learns to like him when he got him
  lots of meat out hunting. Then a man came that
  was old yellers real owner but he was kind
  enough to let them keep him. One day Travis was
  out hog hunting and was attached by hogs and old
  yeller saved him but he got ripped up. Him and
  old yeller did heel. Then when his mama was
  burning a cow because she was dead a wolf jumped
  right at them, but old yeller saved her. It was
  bad for old yeller because the wolf had rabies.
  After a few days they had to shoot him.

• The two main characters in the story are old
  yeller and Travis. Travis a young boy who is very
  brave and strong. Also he is very busy either
  helping his mom or watching his brother. Old
  yeller is a old ugly dog with yellow fur and cut
  off tail. He also steels and whimpers a lot.

  well kind of cute!!

2 table spoons of excitement

• The most exciting part was when two wolves were
  fighting right out side their house. Then they
  just started pounding into the house. Travis ran
  outside with a bull wipe. He didnt try to hit
  them in till old yeller came. He chased them
  right down into a river in a old cart. Then they
  got up and ran away. Then the other bull went
  afterhim. Right then Travis ran back in the house
  and realized how good old yeller was.

Mix thoroughly with opinion and recommendations

• I hated the part when they had to shoot the dog
  because of a disease called rabies. When the
  momma realized he was acting weird she called
  Travis to shoot him. He was upset and almost
  couldnt do it. Travis eventually did it but he
  cried. This is why it was a sad book. I would
  recommend this book to Noelle because it is a
  very interesting story of a dog. Also it is about
  history. She loves those kinds of books. It also
  takes place in a very cool setting a setting that
  she would like.
