6100 Mbits/sec connection from each switch to each
Nurse Station.
1000 Mbits/sec connection from MediaCare to each
Switch The virtual server will have multiple
network cards for each switch or a multi-gigabit
connection onto the hospitals exisiting network.
Remote Desktop from Nurse Station into the
Virtual MediaCare Servers.
This computer is just a Thin Client, it can be on
anything that runs remote desktop.
7100 Mbits/sec connection from switch to each
television.
8The nurse at a nurse station sends a command to
play something on the television.
The command gets sent to the virtual server where
MediaCare is and sends the command back to the
switch to play on the television.
The television accepts the push command from
MediaCare.

10MediaCare Virtual Server
11Virtual
You can have just virtualized MediaCare desktops.
Or just a Thin Client Server.
Or both MediaCare desktops and Thin Client Server.
12The setup for Thin Client is almost exactly the
same as the setup with MediaCare.
With MediaCare, just add terminals so that you
can remote desktop into the virtual server.
13Thin Client and MediaCare both run through the
same RJ45 cable. When the cable reaches the
server, the server has a built in Bridge to
connect the different networks and sending the
right information to the right virtual server.
Bridge
The Bridge is completely invisible, it is part of
the server software that is used to virtualize
the server.
14There are 2 types of virtual server setup.
Separate virtual servers that are installed onto
some large hardware server, will only use Remote
Desktop Protocol.
Citrix Setup There are special Citrix virtual
servers that controls and delivers desktops as
Thin Clients and MediaCare desktops. Will
provide more control and features but will also
costs more.
We recommend using the first virtual server setup
where the virtual server just uses remote desktop
protocol. The Citrix servers will come with
extra costs that are not needed for our Thin
Clients, because Citrix provides extra management
for each of the clients.
