MI dampers CVS area

• CVS is a source code management system, in
  widespread use in HEP and elsewhere

• Makes it easy to track code changes vs time
• You dont have to archive a whole directory tree
  of files every time you change a few lines
• You can attach name tags to important versions of
  the project if that is helpful (e.g. big
  releases)
• Makes it easier to collaborate on a project
• You dont have to figure out whose laptop
  contains the current running version

• Many people who run CVS use cvsweb to make
  source code available via www
• Makes good expert-level documentation
• Analogous to having schematics online
• Controls department does this

misc/midamper cvs update cvs commit
get a new working copy refresh your copy with
others changes save your changes into CVS
