  • front assessment task. This task will be
    tailored to
  • the applicant and could be
  • Assignment
  • Workplace based project
  • Portfolio

10
  • Feedback and Planning
  • This stage provides an opportunity for the
facilitator to talk with the participant about
    the application, determine the units/qualification
against which the application has been
successful and to map a way forward.

11
  • Feedback from process
  • became one on one training (generally the gaps
were similar if not the same)
  • time consuming
  • still annoying to staff time consuming,
    potentially threatening (particularly interview)

12
  • The Idea!
  • Premise
  • most staff were already attending the 4 new
units and then engaging in RPL process
  • staff were time poor
  • wanted something useful

13
  • The Idea!
  • Rationale
  • attendance at 5 day long workshops
  • no additional work (completing assessments,
gathering evidence) outside the 5 days
  • the opportunity to learn something
  • opportunity to walk away with useful information
    and tools
  • opportunity to get together with colleagues,
share ideas and have a bit of fun

  • Day 1

15
  • Timetable
  • Day 2

16
  • Timetable

19
  • Marketing
  • Access staff

20
  • Marketing
  • Communicate effectively
  • Simplified mapping of BSZ to TAA
  • What do we mean by currency
  • Whats in it for you!
  • Expectations of you
  • Pre populated paperwork

21
  • Feedback
  • Strengths
  • The immersion knocking it on the head
  • Confirms that I am doing the correct thing
  • Forced me to do it
  • Networking meeting other colleagues
  • Now I am sure why I need to do this
  • Can use these skills in other areas
  • Being a sessional sometimes you are left out
    this helps include you
  • Validation has been very valuable seen as a
chore now has a clear simple process to
    follow.
  • Week apart good
  • Speed was also good

22
  • Feedback
  • Weaknesses
  • The room
  • Been fast more reflection time needed
  • Timing of the year
  • Big day of learning

23
  • Feedback
  • Opportunities
  • Include in performance plans so people are
encouraged to be exposed to new ideas
  • RPL process might not always capture this
    learning for people
  • Good professional development
  • Graduates of the upgrade can encourage others
that it is a great way to go

24
  • Feedback
  • Threats
  • Need to ensure that participants have adequate
knowledge and background need to monitor who is
    able to join in.
  • RPL process might short circuit this learning and
    professional development opportunity

25
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Informal and formal feedback
  • Changes to and streamlined work practice
  • Including the general public
  • Interview for non BSZers
