Practice in Measuring with Milliliters
  • Collect Materials
  • One beaker filled with 50 ml of each of the
    following colors red, blue, yellow
  • Graduated cylinders of various sizes
  • Cups that are labeled A, B, C, D, E, F, and G.
  • Procedures
  • Measure 19 ml of red solution with the graduated
    cylinder, and add it to cup A. Be careful not to
    spill the solution.
  • Measure 18 ml of yellow solution and add it to
    cup C.
  • Measure 18 ml of blue solution and add it to cup
    E.
  • Measure 4 ml from cup C and pour it into cup D.
  • Measure 7 ml from cup E and pour it into cup D.
  • Measure 4 ml of blue solution from the original
    beaker (not the cups) and 7 ml of the red
    solution from the original beaker and add them to
    cup G and stir.
  • Measure 8 ml from the A cup and 3 ml from cup C.
    Add them to the cup B and stir.
  • Place the cups in alphabetical order. Describe
    your results.

  • What color should go into cup F?
  • Figure out a formula of what number mls and what
    colors when combined would give you the right
    color.
