  • Will surveying and educating a group of 53
    mothers having children below 5 years of age in
    community of kagdiwad slum area on 2 visits with
    the ROME Mobile Clinic improve the vaccination
    coverage according to UIP schedule by 75?

UIP (Universal Immunization Programme) is a
global measure taken to protect all children of
the world against seven-vaccine preventable
disease, namely        Diphtheria       
Whooping Cough        Tetanus       
Polio        Tuberculosis       
Measles        Hepatitis B

According to UIP schedule children should be
vaccinated but many of them are still remaining.
Moreover diseases like MEASLES, POLIO DPT are
on the verge of eradication in the developed
countries but are still major health problem in
our country.So prime need of community is to
vaccinate these children so we have done some
efforts tried to vaccinate children of the
area KAGDIWAD

AIM  To increase the
immunization coverage of a slum area of
Ahmedabad by educating the mothers and doing
a post interventional survey.
  • OBJECTIVES
  • 1) To gather information about children in
    0-5 years age
  • group from kagdiwad area by house to
    housevisit.
  •   2) To study there vaccination cards and know
    their
  • immunization statuses.
  • 3) To identify the unimmunized subjects among
    them.
  •   4) To know and analyze the reasons for
    failure in
  • vaccinating children and to
  • solve it out at individual level and
    community level.

  • 5)To educate their parents about the benefits
    of vaccination.

  • 6)To give the essential guidance for the
    completion of immunization schedule in each case
    by informing them about the vaccines missed and
    the schedule for the next vaccines.

  • 7)To motivate the community for following the
    vaccination schedule strictly.
  •  
  • 8)To do the post-interventional survey for
    improvement in immunized status after a week by
    using the ROME mobile clinic register survey for
    each identified unimmunized subject.

baseline information by door to door survey,
studying the immunization status of each child in

INTERVENTIONAL SURVEY- Number of partially
immunized children who were completely Immunized

were educated53So the success rate is 68 68
were IMMUNISED after HEALTH EDUCATION.  We
hope that the vaccination status of the community
will be improved even after the completion of our
project by similar work by our colleagues
