Project objectives

• To slowly reduce Keralas dependency on
  neighboring states for poultry products.
• To generate ample self employment opportunities
  for the poor youth through the venture.
• To create a different trend in meat industry in
  future

Project Idea

• To start the project in 7 districts in the pilot
  phase.
• To establish 10 broiler farms each district of
  the pilot phase, with a capacity to produce 5000
  birds every month.
• To establish five member activity groups for the
  enterprises.
• To provide them with the necessary training and
  capacity building.

Project Requirements

• The site should have a space for building a shed
  of 7500 sq ft.
• A well ventilated shed with the required utensils
  and furniture lighting arrangements.

Project details-how it works

• This project works on an integration farming
  mechanism.
• Mr.Abdul Kadar will provide day old vaccinated
  chicks at the doorsteps of the farms.
• The feed will be provided by Mr.Abdul Kadar .

• The day old chicks will be reared by our units to
  45 day old ones.
• The units will procure batches of 5000 birds
  every month.
• Till the maturity period the units will have to
  feed the birds vaccinate them, and take genuine
  and necessary care as required.

• The fully grown birds will then be Bough5t back
  by Mr.Abdul Kadar at a rate of Rs.3.50/- per kg.
• The buy back system guarantees a ready market for
  our groups.
• This system will run effectively to meet the
  requirements of our network.

Concluding comments

• This is a model project which if taken seriously,
  can be a solution to the states poultry needs.
• The DMTs are requested to take this project as
  utmost priority and give their feedbacks on
  schedule.
• The implementation part needs to be given utmost
  care through efficient monitoring scheme.
