Title: Steps to set up end-to-end/partial-path circuits

1
Steps to set up end-to-end/partial-path circuits
  • Step1 End host requests the setup of a CHEETAH
circuit between two routers with GMPLS signaling
  • Done by end-host RSVP-TE software, VLSR for
routers, and GMPLS engine on Sycamore SN16000
  • Step2 Configure the IP routing tables in routers
to direct packets from the particular flow for
which the circuit was requested to the circuit
  • Done by VLSR for routers
  • Step3 Configure the IP routing tables in hosts
to direct packets from the particular flow to the
CHEETAH router, instead of the default Internet
    router
  • Done by end-host RSVP-TE software

2
Local demo
  • Step1 Set up the circuit between two routers
  • Done by manually provisioning the circuit on
    15454 MSPP
  • Step2 Configure the IP routing tables in routers
to direct the traffic destined to mvstu4 and
    mvstu5 via two 15454 paths
  • Done using CLI commands in the routers
  • Step3 Configure the IP routing tables in hosts
to direct the right traffic to router A and B,
instead of the default Internet router
  • Done using Linux route command in the hosts
  • Step4 Run traceroute on mvstu3 to demo the
different paths taken for different flows
