2Chinook Indians
The Chinook lived in the pacific northwest.

They ate salmon, deer, birds and other small game.

They used harpoons, nets, bow arrows, traps and
snares.

The men usually wore nothing. Women would wear
short skirts made of grass or cedar bark.

They lived in plank houses.

There language had many different sounds not
known to the English language. They told
traditional stories.
8Navajo Indians
The Navajo lived in the Dessert Southwest.

They lived in a Hogan made of a special wood and
clay.

They ate crop, corn, beans, and squash.

The men wore breechcloths. The women wore skirts
made of yucca fiber.

They used wooden horse rakes, spindles and bows
and arrows.
13Culture and religion
They were famous for there colorful woven rugs
and silver jewelry. They also made pottery,
baskets and sand paintings.
14Sioux Indians
Sioux lived in the plains.

They lived in teepees made of buffalo hide.

They ate buffalo, elk , deer.

To hunt they used bows and arrows and spears.
Warriors used war clubs and buffalo hide shields.

The women wore long deer skin or elk skin
dresses. Men wore breech clothes and leggings
with buckskin shirts.

The womens role in the tribe was to be in charge
of the homes. Men were in charge of hunting and
were warriors, and were also in charge of taking
care of his family.
20Mohawk Indians
The Mohawk lived in the Eastern woodlands

They lived villages of longhouses.

The men wore breechcloths with leggings. Women
wore wraparound skirts with shorter leggings.

Hunters used bows and arrows, spears, fishing
poles. The tools they used were a stone adzes,
flint, knives.

They made mask carving, beadwork, porcupine
quillwork.

26Summary
The Chinook would have a lot of trouble in the
dessert southwest because they are used to the
colder climate than the Navajo. The Mohawk would
have trouble in the Plains because there probably
not used to following a herd of buffalo around.
The food that the Navajo eat the Sioux, Chinook
and the Mohawk probably wouldnt like.
