Tips for Beginning a New School Year
The beginning of our school year is now upon
us. As always, there are so many projects and
activities we are involved with in order to get
ready to receive our students. An important
factor we need to keep in mind is that the
beginning of the year is a time when many
students come together. This creates an
opportunity for the spread of infections. This
is definitely a situation in which an ounce of
prevention is worth more than a pound of cure.
Tip To help decrease germs, have Clorox wipes
(or some type of antibiotic wipe) on hand so that
students can clean the surfaces of desktops and
any other equipment they use. While this is
an effective measure, all the cleaning in the
world cannot stop infections from spreading
however, it can lessen the chances. It is a
well-known fact that eating a healthy diet is
crucial. Certain foods can help boost our own
natural defenses against potential infections.
Tip The top five foods recommended for
healthy immune systems are sweet potatoes,
mushrooms, tea (green or black), yogurt and
believe it or not beef. Good Luck for a
healthier school year!
