- First introduced in 2000 as the Nurses in
Schools program. - Primary goal was to increase public health and
primary care capacity and to promote wellness. - December 2002 first HS Consultation

Challenge. - A game developed by the Centre de Sante.
- The HLC encourages families to adopt healthier

19- August 2004, the Manitoba government announced
the creation of the Healthy Kids, Healthy Futures
All-Party Task Force. - Mandate to ask Manitobans for their views on
how to help our child and youth enjoy the
benefits of optimal health. - HKHF Task Force focused on factors affecting
childrens health in areas of nutrition, physical
activity, and injury prevention. - the task force developed 47 recommendations
