ACTRAVs LABOUR EDUCATION

• Education and training offered by ACTRAV to
  full/part time trade union officers and members
• ACTRAVs training activities are aimed at
• Increasing the capacity of trade unions to plan
  and deliver educational programmes in line with
  their educational policies
• Supporting the development and strengthening of
  specialized technical departments within trade
  unions
• Strengthening the process of organising and
  capacity-building of trade unions
• Supporting the ILO agenda on Decent Work and
  workers rights
• Promoting gender mainstreaming in all the
  activities of trade unions

Training methodology

• Focus from trainer-centred to participant-centred
• Extensive use of active learning methods full
  participation, validation of trade union
  experiences brought by course participants,
  trainers/facilitators, adaptation of the course
  content and pace via reports back and course
  assessments,
• Teaching methods based on a comparative
  approach/case studies/role playing and the
  extensive use of small group work
• Extensive use of IT and the Internet throughout
  course delivery
• Active role of course participant / design of
  work plans
