Findings - Positive
  • Joint Commissioning Strategy forms a good
    platform for future developments
  • Services reflect the rich ethnic diversity of the
    borough
  • Staff enjoy working in Brent
  • energised by developments in services
  • and opportunities to make progress

Findings - Positive
  • Commitment to partnership working
  • Brent Better Government for Older People is an
    initiative that shows considerable promise
  • More older people are being supported in their
    own homes through community based services

Findings - Positive
  • The new Intermediate Care model proposal is based
    on a whole systems approach
  • Plans for Emergency Care Diagnostic Centres are
    well developed
  • The Willesden Hospital development will house the
    Social Services Older Peoples Department.

Findings - Negative
  • Mental Health Services for Older People are under
    funded
  • Progress on the Single Assessment Process has
    been slow
  • Joint working to secure effective hospital
    discharge is not embedded (however Brent is
    performing above the London average)
