Electrical Plan Directions
  • 1. Use your existing remodeled home plans from
    your first project.
  • 2. All you need to have on your drawing are
    exterior and interior walls, major appliances and
    permanent fixtures.
  • 3. Locate your meter and distribution
    panel(breaker box). This is the power supply to
    your house, and should be in an area where there
    is an abundance of electrical systems. ( e.g.,
    utility room, kitchen, etc.)
  • 4. Show all convenience outlets using the proper
    symbols. Be sure to indicate those that are
    different, such as those that are 240 volt (e.g.
    electric stove, electric dryer), outlets that are
    split-wired(top half on different circuit than
    bottom, or one half switched)
  • 5. Locate all ceiling and wall lighting outlets.
    Use the proper symbols.
  • 6. Show all special outlets and fixtures such as
    telephone, chimes, intercom, computer network,
    etc.
