4You can get the same amount of light, but
different effects by combining Shutter Speed and
F-stop
5Each step in either Shutter speed or Aperture is
a stop
6Both shutter speed and F-stop are equal when it
comes to stops.
7You can balance stops in shutter speed and f-stop
If you take away two stops in Aperture, you can
add two stops in Shutter speed and get the same
amount of light.
8Different combinations of f-stop and Shutter
Speed give you different photo effects.
But note that the exposure the amount of light
in each frame is the same because the shutter
and f-stop are balanced.
9On the left, the f-stop is very smalll and the
shutter speed is slow that means all objects in
the frame are in focus, but the exposure is
blurred.
In the middle, the f-stop is set at F-8, in the
middle, and the shutter speed is still slow, so
fewer objects are in focus, but the frame is
still blurry due to the slow shutter speed.
On the right perfect! The distracting
background is blurred out, and the shutter speed
is fast enough to freeze any motion.
