2Teacher - a back bone for any educational
transformation
- All the three programs-
- Virtual School and Learning homes ( VSLH),
- Open Educational Resources (OER) and
- Nurturing Excellence and Talent Services
(NETS) - will be implemented by Teachers - not trained
for these type of activities in B. Ed. - Orientation is necessary
3Teacher includes -
- school teacher,
- educating parent,
- guiding peer,
- private tutor,
- coaching class faculty,
- any one helping the child learn better.
4E-Teacher training program of VSLH-
- provides training in ICT and continuous support
to the teacher, - uses Multi-Media Open Learning resources,
- uses Tech-MODE approach and ICT for delivery and
deployment - uses distributed classroom learning situation,
- functions at grass root nodal points - class,
school and community.
5Inputs of this program are based on the
activities the teacher is expected to perform in
these three programs
- The inputs will include the components of -
- IT applications,
- Subject contents and
- Pedagogical processes
6- Some components will be common to all.
- Some components will be program specific.
- Both of them together will form a Certificate
Course. - These modules will be used as e-B. Ed. course
material.
7This program will help teachers in increasing -
- their content mastery, and
- better understanding and application of the
pedagogical processes. -
- The course will be in
- Marathi and English
- in a modular form - Five
- modules
8The teacher will be able to provide the students -
- better understanding about their abilities and
talents - better subject content,
- more learning by doing opportunities,
- more cooperative and collaborative learning
activities, - better ways of curriculum transaction,
- better learning, self learning,
- opportunity to draw the best in him/her to excel

based on the latest constructivist theory

- OPEN EDUCATIONAL RESOURSES (OERs)
- OER is an easy tool for
- digitizing,
- virtualizing and
- mass personalizing
- educational activities with total freedom of
selection of learning devices, to the learner.
14Training of teachers -
- in searching, identifying, reviewing, selecting,
procuring, integrating/ adapting and using
globally available OERs - in designing, developing, producing and using
new need based, OERs - in using principles, tools and techniques of
mass personalization and group customization.

- Using different content forms like PPT, Lectures,
well directed courses, laboratory experiments,
software, tests, etc. - Management of OER and
- quality controls like Learnability, Accuracy,
Relevance, Interactivity, Up gradation etc. - Exploring various sources of OERs-web sites of
MIT (USA), COL, UNDP, UNESCO, NCERT, CIET, SCERT,
SIET etc.
16The teacher will be able to provide the services
like-
- Good teaching in the classroom, in a distributed
class and to virtual groups, - Different inputs to different ability groups, not
same for all rut, - Activity based instruction, learning by doing and
exploring, - Opportunities for learners to go beyond and enjoy
learning, - A career path taking students beyond content to
the industry, world of work.

identify the talent and nurture it - Training of teachers in -preparation and use of
various techniques and tools for identification
and nurturance of talent, and - in helping the child in excelling in the chosen
area of talent.
