Cohort analysis

• Three dates are important for cohort analysis
• Date of first registered as TB patient
• Date of registration on CAT IV
• Date on starting CAT IV
• Two types of cohort analysis
• Treatment (24,36 months)
• Registration (case registered and put on
  treatment).
• A 6 month interim assessment is also recommended.

• Form 05Laboratory register for DSM and for
  culture.
• Form 07 Quarterly report on case registration

Treatment card

• The main information are
• Basic demographic and clinical information
• CAT IV registration number and date
• Previous date and registration number
• Registration group according to history of
  previous anti TB treatment (new, relapse,
  treatment after default, treatment after failure
  of 1st LD, or 2nd LD, transfer in and others).
• Previous treatment episodes
• Used 2nd LD previously
• HIV infection,
• Decision of the review panel,

Treatment card

• The main information are
• Monitoring of smear and culture.
• DST results,
• Treatment regimen,
• Record of daily observe treatment,
• Weight, lab and x-ray monitoring
• Treatment outcome

MDR register

• The main information are
• Registration number and date
• Name, sex, age, address
• District TB number.
• Site of disease
• Registration group
• SDL received (Y/N)
• DST
• Reason for CAT IV registration (C/S)
• Treatment regimen
• Smear and culture monitoring results
• Final outcome
• HIV status
• comments

Six months interim assessment report

• Is done for cohort started treatment 9 months
  later.
• This allow the results of the 6th month culture.
• The treatment coverage also can be included in
  this report.

Annual report of treatment outcome

• It shows the final result of treatment by year,
  since the start of treatment in total and
  stratified by smear and culture results and by
  patient registration category.
• The form is filled at 24 month and 36 month
  intervals after the last patient in the cohort
  starts treatment.

Other programme indicators

• MDR-TB burden
• Number of MDR-TB cases and new and re-treated
  cases.
• MDR-TB percentage among treatment history groups
  
• new, relapse, return after default, failure to
  CAT 1, failure to re-treatment.
• DST coverage among treatment history groups
