• A. Finish All Classes for Degree (Be certain you
  have a degree plan on file that is signed by you
  and Deborah Westbrook-This is your contract with
  the school for a degree.)
• B. Check with Degree Counselor (J. Ripple
  _at_UHV-CR)
• C. Take PPR Generalist
• 1. Take practice exams At UHV-CR-pass
  w/ 80
• 2. Apply for TEA ID

• 3. Register through SBEC for exam
  (82.00 each test)
• 4. Test sites dates are listed

• D. Apply for student teaching by the deadline
  (March 1st for Spring placement).
• E. Apply for graduation by the deadline. Check
  UHV web-site

• F. Apply for certification directly with SBEC
  online.
• 1. Must have your SBEC ID
• 2. Cost 77.00 for cert., 47.00 for
  fingerprinting, additional 10.00 for
  fingerprinting

• Teenagers with RHS (Raging Hormone Syndrome
• High School Early mornings starting _at_500 am
• Middle School Late Afternoons end after 430pm

Budgeting Your Time

• School can become a black hole for your time
  forever engulfing every available minute
• Lesson plans
• Calendars
• Meetings
• Tutoring
• Extra Curricular clubs

Juggling Family

• Have a good support system
• Take time to be with your family completely no
  TV, no work talk, eat dinner together or anything
  that you enjoy doing with your family
• You will be overwhelmed ! Know when to stop and
  take a breath. Use your family as a positive
  outlet to regroup and regenerate

Home Life

• Shop and Pre-cook meals
• Do laundry for the week
• Enlist help from your spouse/kids with household
  chores whenever possible
• Keep outside the home commitments to a minimum

Carpe Diem !

• Teaching will make your life very busy very
  quickly. Lists, Preplanning, and Flexibility will
  become words you live by.
• To teach is not a choice it is a calling and
  this is your time, you have worked hard for this
  time, so seize the moment and enjoy every day of
  the 60 you will have.
