What we did (and what we did not) work out in the

T1.4 Data Rescue

• Mr. DoW (I mean Description of Work) gave us
  lot of work here, so what we have done in the
  first year?
• the package for the digitalization of the chart
  records has been developed,
• the survey of potential data at HHI that need to
  be rescued is (almost!) finished,
• the quality check of chart records has been done
  before the digitalization,
• the digitalization of the old chart records is
  in progress, Split (1956-1982) and Rovinj
  (1969-1985) 43 yrs !!! have been digitized
  till now,
• the scanning of the charts started Dubrovnik
  and Rovinj charts were partially scanned (cca 50
  yrs of charts).

T1.4 - Summary

• We plan to digitize the charts of long-term
  operating tide gauges Split, Rovinj, Dubrovnik
  (1955-1985) first, then the others,
• The same material will be scanned, in order to
  protect the originals from ruination,
• The data seems to be OK (preliminary analysis)
  but additional data quality check procedures
  should be applied (will be done within T1.5)
