• PANDORA is a high-impact project designed to show
  the concrete development opportunities for
  regional economies brought by the adoption of new
  information society technologies, applications
  and practices through the development and
  demonstration of innovative, mobile regional
  public services

  the service of citizens and enterprises

What is CRM?

• a process aimed at increasing the interactions as
  well as the relationships within PA and its
  users, its task is to simplify the processes that
  bring to the knowledge of citizens

In This Framework

• The PANDORA project is aimed at developing CRM
  programs within Public Administration mainly
  exploiting the opportunities brought by new
  wireless technologies and focusing on some rural
  areas of Europe that, because of their
  geographical configuration and of their distance
  from big cities and from Public Bodies, are in a
  disadvantaged position in using all services
  provided and that need specific applications.

Project Outcomes

• increase regional administration productivity of
  50
• reduce regional administration costs up to 30
• serve some 200,000 SMEs in the five European
  regions targeted by the project, making them more
  efficient and competitive
• contribute to the creation of hundreds thousand
  new jobs in the innovative GPRS/UMTS service
  market

Project Outputs

• a brand new Mobile Content Management Platform
  able to access, manage and wirelessly deliver
  multimedia and multilingual information extracted
  from Web pages, local/regional databases, etc.
• a set of advanced, multimedia, interactive and
  personalised IST applications devoted to the
  mobile user (citizen, entrepreneur, commuter,
  etc.)

• WRAPPER will enable the extraction of multimedia
  and multilingual information and then integrate
  and share it with the other platform components
  through XML/Java technologies
• HANDLER will provide the means to create a
  unified access to all the multimedia and
  multilingual information
• RENDERING will deliver the PANDORA
  multimedia/multilingual mobile applications

Lombardy Applications

• All the Applications are addressed to
  Farmers
• Regulation News and Contributions
• The application provides the Farmers, both in
  pull and push modality, with information about
  new regulations, focusing attention on those
  related to contributions distribution.
• Weather Forecast
• It provides the farmers with specific weather
  information useful for farmers work planning.
• Subsidies Management
• After having submitted a request for a
  contribution, the farmer will be regularly
  informed about the most significant events
  concerning the advancement state of his paper.

W-illage application

• Addressed to General users.
• Through his/her connection device the user can
• Retrieve information about restaurants, cinemas,
  theatres, local events (M-Guide)
• Receive information about emergency services
  (M-ergency)

W-isitor application

• Addressed to tourists and visitors.
• Through properly configured connection devices
  distributed by the service manager the user can
• Stroll around a museum/archaeological site
  (W-Site) or a park (W-Park) and get information
  about objects of interest
