  • Assumes 2 years of high school algebra (or
    equivalent) and 21 Math ACT or sufficient score
    on placement exam
  • Text College Algebra by Dr. Avinash Sathaye
  • Available for free download

  • Uses Web Homework system

  • Calculators are expected
  • may be used but will not be required on tests
  • Applications are primarily of algebra to geometry

Point Requirements for Individual Grades

Homework Attendance total 65 Points 14.45 of
Grade
  • Homework uses web system
  • Can submit any number of times till problem set
    expires
  • Can work together on homework (encouraged)
  • Can get external help on homework (permitted)
  • Number of homework points (out of 10 possible) on
    a test determined by average of scores on
    homework sets for that test
  • At least 40 on Wed version homework at least
    85 on Sunday version for full 10 points.
  • Less than 40 on Wed at least 85 on Sunday
    version for 8 points.
  • Less than 40 on Wed reduces max from Sunday
    score by 2 points (or to 0)
  • Attendance taken by signing attendance sheet
  • Signing for someone else is cheating
  • Attendance points proportional to number of
    classes attended
  • Excused 2 absences university excused absences
